First Module of Intellectual Property Trainer Training Programme Concludes in Almaty

14 October, 2026

From 5 to 9 October 2026, the first module of the training programme for trainers, “Intellectual Property in the Creative Industries and Basic Teaching Methodologies,” was held at the Training Centre of the KAZPATENT branch in Almaty. The programme is implemented with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy.

The training brought together 24 participants, including practising lawyers, patent attorneys and intellectual property experts.

As part of the programme, participants explored issues related to the protection and use of intellectual property in the creative industries, while also acquiring fundamental teaching methodologies and approaches to organizing the educational process. On the final day, teams presented their assignments to the facilitators, demonstrating the knowledge and skills they had gained.

The training of trainers is an important milestone in the project to establish a Training Centre in Astana and its branch in Almaty, based at the KAZPATENT Training Centre. The project aims to develop the intellectual property education system, enhance the professional competencies of specialists and expand access to specialized educational programmes.

The completion of the first module marks another step towards building a professional community of trainers capable of sharing knowledge and practical expertise in the field of intellectual property. The training provides a foundation for further educational initiatives and strengthens Kazakhstan’s expert capacity in this area.
