National Institute of Intellectual Property
On April 15, 2026, the «National Institute of Intellectual Property» (Kazpatent) held an online seminar on the topic «Intellectual Property: Amendments and Additions to the Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan» for the teaching staff and employees of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University (hereinafter – the University).
The event was aimed at developing the scientific and innovative potential of the University, enhancing knowledge and competencies in the field of intellectual property management, as well as strengthening cooperation between the Technology and Innovation Support Center (hereinafter – TISC) of Kazpatent and the University.
The opening speech was delivered by Member of the Management Board – Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, Mainura Abiltayevna Buribayeva. She noted the role of patent activities in the development of the University’s scientific and innovative potential.
Kazpatent representatives presented reports on the topic of «Intellectual Property: Amendments and Additions to the Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan», including amendments to the Patent Law and legislation on trademarks, service marks, geographical indications, and appellations of origin that entered into force on January 25, 2026, as well as on the topics of «Copyright» and «Use of industrial property objects, main forms of transfer of rights».
University staff actively participated in the seminar and received answers to their questions. The University expressed its intention to continue cooperation with Kazpatent within the framework of TISC.
